Dear Network

Not forsaking the gathering together

Dear Network,

What we should be seeking . # 83

Early Israel was a government based on networking of groups of ten. The same was true of the early Christian community.

You could not really love one another if you did not keep track of one another so the people gathered in groups of ten.

Those groups were connected to each other by the efforts of their ministers who also gathered.

Today we might think we do not need that network... Modern society is held together by a social contract which contains many agreements.

The order of the modern society is established by the policy that lawmakers make for the people. Those policies of order are enforced by the ministers of those governments.

Ancient Israel had laws too but they were enforced by the honor and diligence of the people in that network.

Societies that covet one another's goods and elect to have men who exercise authority one over the other force the contributions of the people and dole out the benefits of those regimes eventually fail.

They fail because they centralize power. The people give power by waiving the right to choose and men who seek power are soon elected to office. Because people are slothful in the pursuit of their rights they are soon under tribute and ruled over by others.

The only way back is to take back your responsibilities for yourself, your family, and your neighbor within the society in which you choose to reside.

That society may be in the world but not of it if they are diligent.

Are you trying to get out of the system of the "world", to be free from that system before you have sought to become a part of the system of God?

Are you seeking to live with others by faith, hope and charity or only trying to throw off oppressors and task masters?

If you are not working to free others as much as you want to be free then there is going to be a dangerous imbalance that will lead to trouble.

There has been several gatherings this fall where people felt they were together in like mind. Where they?

This idea of being in one accord does not always past the test of time.

What are the common factors of those seeking the kingdom?

Everything they do would display the character of Christ.

They would seek to help others rather than have others help them first.

They would seek to serve others rather than have others serve them.

They would seek that others eat before they would eat.

They would seek to free others before they would seek to free themselves.

They would giving and forgiving.

They would be men and women of honor.

They would be trusted to keep their agreements.

I cannot help think abut the scout law from my youth that stated that a good scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

Are we all those things?

Are we truly of one mind?

Are we seeking the kingdom of God in word and deed?

Are we of one purpose?

Have we joined this network for what we can get out of it or have we come here to help others too?

If we have one mind is it the mind of Christ?

Jesus said "For whether [is] greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? [is] not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;"  Luke 22:27

That temptation was to rule over other instead of serve the purposes of God which is to save mankind from the foolishness of sin.

The difference between the government of men and the government of God is that the latter empowers men to make their own choices. It only works if they make the right choices.

Today we talked on talk shoe about a licensed minister. He is not licensed by the ministers of the Church as much as he is licensed by the people who recognize him as a minister. This agreement to let him be their minister needs to be a matter of record so that everyone can do their part in the network.

Everyone needs to know their roll if they are going to work as a team.

The people have their responsibility and the ministers have their's. Without diligently seeking to those parts we will fail. Everyone has something to do to help others and if they do not do it they become the weak link in a chain of mutual effort and community.

Are we of one mind and of one purpose?

Are we working together to create a network?

Has everyone picked a contact minister, not merely to help themselves but to know when others may need help?

If we do not reach out to help others why would we, why should we, expect anyone to come to our aid when we need help?

Are our Contact Ministers of one mind and of one purpose?

Are they working as a team?

Can we rely on them to bring us together?

What is the purpose and duties of a Contact Minister?

This is explained at http://www.hisholychurch.org/network/contactministers.php

If you want to be a contact minister and agree to the terms let your local groups know.

If you have not picked a contact minister... Please do.

How do I elect a Personal Contact Minister
Contact Minister Election Form

A personal Contact Minister who agrees to work with the other ministers in a network of service has access to additional documents and work.

Since they are a part of a network they can be the first line of communication for the whole network.

If you are thinking just your self or family you are not thinking Kingdom.

If you are focusing just on your local group then you are not thinking Kingdom.

If your are trying to free yourself without an equal effort to free others then you are not thinking Kingdom.

Isn't it time we started thinking and seeking the kingdom to say nothing of the righteousness of God?
